Brentford's League Two title championship came at a cost after records show the champions splashed out £29,667 in fees for agents last season - the third highest in the division.

The Football League published its annual report on Agents' Fees this week, which also detailed the club made 16 new registrations, updated three contracts, cancelled five and agreed 10 loan deals during the course of last season.

Topping the table were Luton Town (£47,000) with Rotherham United the next leading fee payers on £30,000, during the period July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
