Bees boss Andy Scott has secured the services of Bristol City defender james Wilson on a one-month loan from Ashton Gate.
The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive temporary 13-match spell at Griffin Park last season and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to bottom club Southampton.
Scott had promised to bring in re-enforcements after Alan Bennett limped out of Tuesday's 2-1 win over Norwich City.
"James did a terrific job for us last season and he has always been in our mind as a player we wanted to bring back to the club in one shape or form," he told the club website.
"I'm delighted we've been able to obtain James on an initial one-month loan."
