Terry Brown admits it is all about playing the waiting game as the Dons boss looks to swell the ranks at Kingsmeadow.

Although Brown was quick to dump ten of his playing squad after AFC Wimbledon sealed their Blue Square South title triumph, no one has of yet been brought in.

But the Wimbledon manager has urged Dons fans not to get too concerned with the lack of transfer action.

He said: “I have been speaking to players last week and this week and I will continue to do so.

“But there really is no rush - it is just a case of waiting for the right players to come along.

“A lot of it is down to the fact that the players I want to bring in are at a higher level of football and most of them are with professional clubs.

“With these players their deals run until July 1, so what is the point in us buying them out of that?

“How would that benefit us?

“The summer gives us plenty of time to get things sorted and rest assured we will.”

The Dons are also expected to confirm their pre-season schedule this week, with a number of clashes with league opposition thought to be in the offing.
