League Two champions Brentford failed to have a single player named in the division’s team of the year this week, but boss Andy Scott only sees that as a compliment.
The Bees, who have topped the table since February when votes for the PFA awards were collected, sealed the title at the weekend with one game remaining thanks to a 3-1 win at Darlington.
But boss Scott, who surprisingly has also been overlooked for a manager of the month award all season, admits a championship medal more than makes up for the snub.
“I see it as a massive compliment. It says we are the best team rather than a group of individuals,” he said.
“If you were to look at our partnerships across the pitch I think you would put each one towards the top of any awards list.
“I shouldn’t think anyone will be too bothered because we all have championship winners medals which mean a hell of a lot more.”
