London Scottish 45 Worthing 13

A third sizeable win left London Scottish clear at the top of National League Division Three South - a point ahead of Ealing - with a maximum 15 points.

A seven-try haul, a repeat of the opening home game of the season, was a good reward for a patchy performance.

The visitors started keenly on a ground where they had won three times in the past four visits, and Ben Coulson slotted home two early penalties.

Coulson even had a chance for a third penalty, but not before Roman Piotrowski had rounded off the first passage of sustained possession by the home side. James Brown put the home side ahead with his first try for the club, and then converted for 12-6.

Ex-Wasps apprentice Willie Lipp downed the ball after a pile up, and after the break the try bonus point came when McInroy took the intiative and embarked on a decisive burst past or perhaps through three defenders to score.

A loss of concentration enabled Jones to score for the visitors from a quick lineout, but Scottish responded, with a lovely move orchestrated by man-of-the match McInroy and completed by Lipp. Petzer converted as Brown received treatment, and the fly half departed soon after. McInroy, now in the fly half slot, deservedly was the next try scorer, bursting clear of a tiring defence to score under the posts, before Swales capped the best move of the afternoon.
