Bees boss Andy Scott insists his side will not become like a rabbit caught between the headlights as they bid to extend their six match unbeaten run.

Brentford have conceded just one league goal since suffering an opening day defeat to Bury and kept a cleansheet at League Two leaders Wycombe Wanderers in Saturday’s 0-0 draw.

Scott’s men had the lions share of chances as they bid to break down a Wanderers side - led by former England caretaker boss Peter Taylor - that deployed a 4-5-1 formation to frustrate the visitors.

The Griffin Park chief reckons more teams will take a more defensive approach as the season progresses, but is adamant it won’t stop him going all out for three points at the risk of losing one.

“I don’t think keeping an unbeaten run going becomes a burden. We won’t stop playing our natural game in the interests of extending it,” he said.

“It is more a case of other teams realising we are a good attacking side and are scared of us.

“If that means teams go away from their usual style when they play against us then it gives us an opportunity and we have to have the confidence to play around that.

“I set our team out to go and win every game we play. Putting out a defensive formation is just not my philosophy.”
