Eight tries got Esher up and running for the season as Havant were sent packing.
Beaten at Oundle on the opening week of the season, the new-look combination struck back in impressive style against their Hampshire opponents, who had enjoyed a successful launch seven days earlier.
Es went ahead on six minutes through centre Myles Rawstron-Rudd, Matt Dalrymple converting, and although hooker Sean Shepherd forced his way over for an unconverted effort at the other end there was plenty more to come from the hosts.
Scrum-half Pierre Thompson’s double strike on 14 and 22 minutes put them firmly in charge, both converted by Dalrymple, the fly-half then adding his own effort although the subsequent kick went astray.

With hooker Lewis Pickford going over three minutes before the interval, Dalrymple’s boot back on target, it sent Esher into half time 33-5 ahead.
Wing Will Perry’s score seven minutes into the second half, converted by Jacob Knight, cut the lead and just before the hour both sides found themselves down to 14. While Es lost second row Dan Clarke to the sinbin for 10 minutes, the visitors were without Colin Sisk – who had started on the bench – for the rest of the match.
Esher took advantage with three more tries, Harry Faulkner (62) and Josh Thorne (64) striking inside three minutes – neither effort being converted, nor was Sam Westmacott’s pushover effort to conclude the scoring.
Es head to Canterbury on Saturday, the Kent side having also started with a defeat before winning 38-15 at Dorking to give the Surrey side a second reverse.
