Wimbledon have today announced the departure of two academy prospects.
Centre-back Jaheim Scafe and midfielder Amaari Sealey have left for the academies of AFC Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, respectively, for undisclosed fees.
Both youngsters played important roles for an Under-18s side that went on to win four trophies in the 2025/26 season, and have been rewarded for their performances.
Scafe joined the Wimbledon setup at the Under-13s level in 2022, ultimately scoring in one of his final games as the Dons beat Blackpool in last season’s EFL Youth Cup Final. The ball-playing centre-back now joins a Bournemouth academy which was granted category 1 status just days ago.
Wimbledon academy manager, Michael Hamilton, told the club, “From the moment he joined our academy, he has consistently demonstrated the attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn that have helped him earn this move”.
Midfielder Amaari Sealey has also moved to a category 1, Premier League academy with Crystal Palace. He had been with the Dons since 2023 after various trials with other London based clubs. Sealey’s 20 goals and 25 assists from midfield last season were a huge contribution to an historic Under-18s side and have caught the attention of Crystal Palace.
Speaking to the club website, Director of football Craig Cope said, “Obviously in an ideal world Amaari would have stayed at Wimbledon and played for our first-team eventually, but we are confident we have achieved a good deal for the football club with a strong interest in the player's future”.
“Finally, I would like to praise everyone in the Academy for their work and commitment in providing a platform for our talent to perform”, mentioned Cope. “This is another example of the differing pathway opportunities we have successfully provided players through our academy and we are striving to achieve more.”
