Crystal Palace have been linked with West Ham’s Ben Johnson and Sporting Lisbon’s Marcus Edwards, ahead of Oliver Glasner’s first transfer window as manager.

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Ben Johnson looks very likely to make the move to Selhurst Park in the summer, after his contract ends with West Ham.

In January, Colombian Daniel Munoz joined the club for a reported £6.9m from Belgian side KRC Genk. Munoz has operated as a right wing back for Palace since Glasner’s arrival, the position that Johnson would likely be in contention for in this Palace side.

However, Johnson has been known to be somewhat of a utility player since breaking into the West Ham first team, with this season alone playing in all positions across the backline, and as a right and left sided midfielder.

According to the reports, Palace would be shocked if Johnson does not join the club in the summer, and they have been working on a deal for months. Even so, West Ham are still pushing to sign Johnson to a new deal, with his current contract said to earn the England u21 international £20,000 per week.

Johnson has also been linked with a move to Tottenham, with Spurs legend, and cousin of Johnson, Ledley King apparently pushing for the move, according to Football Transfers.

Also linked with Crystal Palace is former Tottenham player Marcus Edwards.

The Englishman left Tottenham back in 2019 to join Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes, where he impressed and moved to Sporting Lisbon in 2022.

Since moving to Portugal, Edwards has played 200 games and contributed to 80 goals, all while predominantly playing off the right wing.

Edwards has a release clause of £52m, however, according to A Bola, Sporting will be willing to listen to offers of around £20m for Edwards.

It is according to A Bola, a Portuguese source, that Crystal Palace are interested in the winger, however they are not alone in their interest, with former side Tottenham also keen to bring Edwards to the Premier League.

Edwards could be a replacement for Michael Olise, who is heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer.

In an interview with Standard Sport in 2022, Edwards hinted towards a Premier League return one day.

“It has been good for me, but I would love to play in England [again] and be near my family," he said.
