AFC Wimbledon teenager Luke Pigden is on the verge of signing his first contract with the club but boss Terry Brown has insisted he remains one for the future.
The 18-year-old has risen through the ranks at Kingsmeadow and made a goalscoring league debut in last month's 5-0 Ryman League Premier Division win at Leyton.
The youngster could be the answer to Brown's attacking midfielder conundrum, but the Dons chief is adamant he needs time to develop.
"We have offered him a contract as a reward for the hard work he has put in, but we are still in talks over completing it," he said.
"He is a very talented footballer but he is one for the future at this stage more than anything else."
