Former Don Roscoe Dsane fired one of the goals as AFC Wimbledon were dumped out of the FA Trophy by Torquay United.

Dsane struck from the spot and sub Lee Phillips added a late second as the Blue Square Premier outfit avoided an upset.

In a first half high on endeavour but low on quality, it was the visitors who created the few opportunities there were.

For the Dons, Sam Hatton's 25 yard volley that flew over the bar early on was all they had to show for their efforts.

The deadlock was broken seconds after the break.

Tim Sills raced onto a through ball and although Jason Goodliffe appeared to reach the ball the referee pointed to the spot.

Dsane sent Lee Butcher the wrong way from the spot to give the visitors the lead.

Torquay had a great chance to seal victory after 70 minutes when sub Phillips was felled by Antony Howard for another spot-kick - but Sills blazed over the bar.

But the Gulls secured their progress minutes later when Chris Todd flicked on Kevin Nicholson's long throw, allowing Phillips to head home.

Although the Dons huffed and puffed they created precious little up front, and must now turn thoughts back to cementing their place in the Ryman South playoffs.
