Millwall breathed life into their play-off ambitions and stretched their unbeaten run over Charlton to 12 games as they took the three points in a tight London derby.

Jake Cooper’s close-range effort was enough for the Lions to get back to winning ways, sealing their first win since football resumed.

Here is how the players rated:

Bartosz Bialkowski – 7

Two big saves in each half from Bart that kept Millwall in the game during tricky spells. He has been worth his weight in gold for the Lions this season.

Mahlon Romeo – 7

Millwall’s most impressive player since the restarted continued his form. Less attacking thrust from him but overall another good performance.

Shaun Hutchinson – 6

Still a couple of mistakes creeping in from Hutchinson, something to keep an eye on perhaps.

Alex Pearce – 7

Tidy on the ball and displaying his leadership skills. The acoustics of an empty ground do wonders for barking his orders.

Jake Cooper – 7

Plenty of signs of the top defender that Cooper is becoming under Rowett. Comfortable on the ball, joining in attacks and solid as every in the air.

Murray Wallace – 6

Solid as usual from the man mountain. Found himself with less attacking to do as be moved back to his wing-back role.

Ryan Woods – 8

Carried on from Swansea, dictating the play with aplomb in the middle of the midfield three. Showed leadership and class.

Jayson Molumby – 6

Decent on his return to the side but lacked a bit of composure when he needed it. His yellow card put him on thin ice, forcing Rowett to make a change.

Ryan Leonard – 6

He did well in the first half as part of the midfield three but lacked the ability to unlock the solid Charlton back line.

Jed Wallace – 7

Much better from Jed today as he looks to get back to his best. More confident in his running and better with his delivery.

Matt Smith – 7

Won everything in the first half and was crying out for some quality around him. He even contributed well defensively in the press, suiting the 5-3-2 shape.

Subs:

Ben Thompson – 6

Good to have Thommo back on the pitch but he didn’t have a massive impact on the game.

Tom Bradshaw – N/A

Connor Mahoney – 7

Much better on the ball than against Swansea. Got crosses in early and his great effort brought Millwall’s goal.

Billy Mitchell – 6

Surprising to see Mitchell at right wing-back but did well there. Got forward and supported Jed well while looking confident on the ball and in defence.

Shaun Williams – N/A
