Crystal Palace made enquiries over QPR’s Eberechi Eze it has been confirmed.

Hoops’ Sporting Director, Les Ferdinand, revealed the Eagles had made an approach for the forward, but no official bids were lodged.

The news will serve as a further dose of frustration for Eagles' fans after another disappointing transfer window which only saw Cenk Tosun welcomed through the Selhurst Park gates in January.

Eze has impressed at Loftus Road this season, backing last season breakthrough with 12 goals and eight assists this time around, rocketing his market value towards £20million.

“Crystal Palace made an enquiry but we never got to any fee or any negotiations in terms of what it was going to take,” Ferdinand told ‘The Beautiful Game Podcast.’.

“They made an enquiry about him and that was it.

“When I see some of the things he does on a football and how comfortable he is on a football, I put him up there as one of the best I have seen.

“Whether he fulfils his potential to be one of the best I have worked with time will tell but in terms of his ability with the ball certainly he is one of the best I have seen.”

The 21-year-old moved to QPR from Millwall’s Academy in 2016 and having spent a season on loan at Wycombe, he’s finally found his feet under Mark Warburton in West London.

His stand-out performances have alerted a host of clubs, an it was reported that Tottenham were keen to add the player to their ranks in the last window.

Ferdinand, although keen to keep hold of their prized asset, is aware that they may need to cash in on the ace.

“I think his future is out of our hands, we may get an offer we can’t refuse.

“We are trying to build something here but at the same time we know along the way we are going to lose one or two assets.”
