Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Ipswich Town defender Luke Woolfenden.

According to TWTD, one of Town’s reliable supporters’ website, the left back is being monitored by a host of Premiership and Championship outfits, with Sheffield United, QPR and Leeds United all keen.

The 21-year-old has impressed for Paul Lambert’s side this season as they look to negotiate their way back to the Championship.

With one goal and two assists in 31 appearances this term, the defender who can play across the back line was watched by Palace scouts during the Tractor Boys’ 2-1 defeat at Blackpool a fortnight ago.

Woolfenden is contracted to Town until the summer of 2022 with the club having an option for a further season but it’s thought Ipswich would be willing to sell the Academy product if they fail to get promoted.

Palace have been short at full-back this season having failed to fil the void left by Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer.

Joel Ward has performed admirably at right-back this season but having been injured for a large part earlier in the season it left Roy Hodgson with no option other than using centre back Martin Kelly out of position.

Signing a full-back was the club's priority during the January transfer window, but having failedd to do so has increased pressure to land a player this summer.
