Charlton’s Sam Field’s season could be over according to Lee Bowyer.
The midfielder, on-loan from West Brom, has suffered a setback with an ongoing knee injury.
Bowyer confirmed he feels the 21-year-old has played his last game for the Addicks in what has been an injury plagued season for the loanee.
Field picked up the initial injury in the 3-2 defeat at Bristol City at the end of October, and although he returned to make the bench at the start of the month, a complication has seemingly cut his season short.
"He's had to go back to West Brom," Bowyer said.
"His knee isn’t looking good, his season might be over."
Field becomes the second loan signing this season after Jonathan Leko that Charlton have sent back to West Brom with what could be season ending injuries.
Field made nine appearances for the Addicks during his loan spell and during that time many Addicks felt he added a solidity to the side as they sent their best wishes in his recovery.
Horrific luck for both Leko and Field!

Both very promising young players go to the same club for experience and game time and are out for the season!
I hope they are both fit for the start of pre season training because neither of them need another set back for next season! 🙏
Sam Field a great player in there, shame we ain't gonna see it,is that two we sent back to #wba with season ending injuries 😏 now #cafc

So of the 5 loans made by #cafc before the end of the August transfer window only Josh Cullen remains.

Leko, Field, Kayal all injured plus Gallagher recalled.
Absolutely gutted that we won’t get to see Sam Field in action again. Think he is a quality player and could really of done with him being fully fit.😔 Incredibly underrated by our fanbase as well. Wish him a speedy recovery back at #wbafc.

Is there some sort of curse on Charlton? So many injuries. Its such a shame because although Field was only coming off the bench now and then, its more than he would've got here. Leko was a regular starter and was said to be improving his all round play and had decent numbers
