Jonny Williams and Darren Pratley have both been ruled out of Charlton’s fixture with Luton Town this Saturday.

Lee Bowyer confirmed that Williams is still sidelined with an ankle injury picked up in a freak training ground incident with Macauley Bonne.

Having missed two months with a knee injury at the back end of last year, the 26-year-old had returned to the fold last month before injuring his ankle in training causing him to miss the 2-0 Blackburn defeat on Saturday.

“Jonny Williams will be a couple of weeks,” he said.

“It’s better than we first thought.

“But again it’s things you can control, Bonne falling on top of him in training.

“It’s a freak thing.

“They’re the things that happen, but unfortunately it’s happened a lot for us this season.

“He’ll be a couple of weeks.”

Pratley who has enjoyed a stellar season for the Addicks was also ruled out by the manager, with back spasms that kept him out of the Blackburn defeat still an issue.

“He is just not there at the moment, he had to have an injection, we’re hopeful he’ll be fit for next week.”

Despite the injuries Bowyer remained upbeat ahead of relegation rivals Luton’s visit, especially considering the injury crisis earlier in the season.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a wealth of riches, but it’s better than where we’ve been in the past.

“I’m happy with the side that’s going out there on the weekend, I trust them.

“Our bench is strong, and I’m happy with everyone who’s fit.”
