Roy Hodgson scorned reports linking Wilfried Zaha with a move to Bayern Munich.
The Crystal Palace winger was linked with a loan move to the German giants earlier this week, with outlets reporting that the Selhurst Park club had turned down the offer.
Hodgson, speaking after his side’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Saturday, mocked the reports, claiming if it were serious he’d be in touch with the Bundesliga outfit’s Chairman, a friend of his.
"A loan move to Bayern!? Was it serious? Where did you get the story from?" Hodgson asked.
"I'll tell you what I'll do, is Karl-Heinz Rummenigge still there?
"I'll give Karl-Heinz a ring on that one, he's a friend of mine from way back and I'll say 'is it true that you seriously have actually put in a bid to loan our best player so we go into the last part of the season without our best player. Is it true?'
"Next time, if he says yes, I'll answer your question but I don't think he will."
Zaha has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park for the last six months, and although it seems Germany will not be his next desitantion, Chelsea still remain interested inn the 27-year-old.
One man howevr who is expected to come into the club is Tottenham's Kyle Walker-Peters.
Hodgson revealed he was 'hopeful' of brigning in the right back early this week.
