Crystal Palace are set to bid for Dundee United winger Scott Banks according to reports.

The Eagles are keen to land the 18-year-old this month with Manchester City and Arsenal both monitoring the situation.

Banks will be available for as little as £200,000 at the end of the season but Palace are willing to stump up the cash now in order to secure his services.

A loan-back deal is a possibility with the Tannadice outfit looking to secure the Championship title as they aim to get back into the Scottish top tier.

The Daily Record reported that Palace attempted to lure the academy product to Selhurst Park in the summer but bids were rejected.

Upon hearing interest, Banks rejected an improved contract at the club and has since fallen out of favour with manager Robbie Neilson, leaving Palace confident they can land the star.

Banks has represented Scotland at youth level.
