It's only a matter of time before Croydon's Sunny Edwards can say he is the complete package, writes Ziad Chaudry.

His performance against Liverpool's Marcel Braithwaite last Saturday at Copper Box Arena in Hackney Wick gave him plenty to pay attention to despite claiming his dream British super-flyweight title.

And despite a couple of scares in round seven when he was knocked down and then cut in round nine, all three scoring judges awarded to fight to the likeable 23-year-old 118-109, 117-110 (twice) who is promoted by Frank Warren.

"For me I like perfect performances but that wasn't it," said Edwards, the younger brother of current WBC world flyweight champion Charlie.

"Not making any excuses I still won clear.  I don't think anyone out there who didn't think I won but still got a hell of a lot to improve on.

"I do want to say a massive credit to Marcel Braithwaite. He gave me a much harder time."

Meanwhile at York Hall, Bethnal Green last Thursday Crystal Palace's Craig Richards, who is promoted by Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn, drew his eight round light-heavyweight contest with Chad Sugden.
