Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins got the goals that gave Brentford a 2-1 win over Cardiff City but fans were left talking about one man.
Thomas Frank’s men closed the gap on the top six to just one point after victory at Griffin Park on Wednesday night as they did their promotion credentials no harm.
At home the Bees are irresistible at times and despite Marlon Pack’s worldy of a strike to get the Bluebirds back in the tie, the three points were thoroughly deserved for a dominant first half display where one man ran the show.
Said Benrahma.
Fans on the terraces in West London are more than aware of the ability the Algerian possesses, and if the travelling fans weren’t then they would’ve realised just how good he is after 30 seconds.
Chipping a ball over a defender’s head, twice, before narrowly missing the target with a volley from the edge of the box in front of the travelling support would’ve got their attention.
And if they missed that they’d only need to hang around a few minutes before the 24-year-old sent right-back Lee Peltier for a waltz and left Leandro Bacuno sliding off the pitch all on the same run.
He’s a special player, and a special player with end product too as his delightful slide pass to Mbeumo to finish off will attest.
Benrahma and Mbeumo are too good for this club and I really hope nobody realises for a while. That was astonishingly wonderful

Former Bees’ boss Dean Smith is a man who’s aware of his talents and his new employers, Aston Villa, are one of a number of clubs reportedly readying a January bid for Frank’s crown jewel.
If a club were to come in for him in January one wonders what figures would be floated around.
If Neal Maupay went for a reported £20million, surely Brentford’s coaching team would be looking at ways to spend at least the same figure?
If they sell him at all, who knows, he may be in the Premiership in six months.
