Millwall’s Jed Wallace has responded to rumours that Aston Villa are preparing to make a move for the winger this January.

Reports suggest that the West Midlands outfit are readying a £10million offer for the Lions’ star man next month, with Villa boss Dean Smith having been seen at a recent Millwall game.

The 25-year-old has been in sparkling form for Gary Rowett’s side, scoring seven goals so far this season as the Lions look to have turned the corner after a tricky spell.

Despite the interest from the top tier, the former Wolves man insisted it won’t phase him or his dedication to The Den outfit.

“I’ll keep doing what I’m doing now, play every week. I’ve signed here three times, people know how committed I am to Millwall,” he said.

“Whether I play good, bad or indifferent I think the reason the fans respect me is because I leave it all out on the pitch every game. I try my hardest.

“Whoever wants me or doesn’t want me it isn’t going to change how much effort I put into Millwall.

“I’ve got a great manager, I’ve got some of my best friends in that changing room. “I’m excited to see what we can do in the future.

“Hopefully we can push on, keep winning games and climb the table.”

Millwall currently sit 13th in the league ahead of Friday night’s fixture against Nottingham Forest at The Den.
