Henrik Dalsgaard has signed a contract extension keeping him at Brentford until the end of the 2020/21 season.
The Danish internationals contract was set to expire next summer.
Dalsgaard, 30, joined the club from Belgian side Sportvereniging Zulte Waregem in the summer of 2017 and has gone on to make 94 games in all competitions for the Bees.
This season the defender has played every minute and has become integral to Thomas Frank's side.
Speaking to Brentford FC, the 28-cap Dane outlined the reasons why he wanted to stay.
"For me it was the summer, the signings that happened, they showed they believed in us and are ready to take the next step," Dalsgaard said.
"New training ground, new stadium on the way, and I feel like I keep improving as a player, a leader and I feel appreciated by the club and fans as well."
His manager praised the right back upon the club unveiling his new deal.
"This is great news for the Club.” Frank said.
“I am very pleased that Henrik has agreed a new contract.
"He is a very important part of what we are doing here, and it is great that he is continuing on the Club’s journey as we progress.
"His performances this season have been excellent, and he has been one of our best players this season.
"He is also one of the key people in the dressing room and makes others better with his personality and communication.
“Henrik is one of our more experienced players, but he is still adding to his game.
"It is great for me to see as a coach that someone who has played hundreds of games, dozens of internationals and in a World Cup can still add layers to his game."
Dalsgaard is expected to part of Frank's side who take on Luton Town at Griffin park on Saturday.

This is superb news! It's a long time since so many first-team players agreed new contracts in such a short space of time. First time in the Championship era as far as I can recall, following Sergi, Ollie and Rico. #brentfordfc https://t.co/67Ag91qwqT

If you’d told me 12 months ago that #BrentfordFC fans would have been buzzing at a new Dalsgaard contract I would have told you to fuck off. Essential player for us now. Great news.
