Crystal Palace have sounded out the possibility of taking AC Milan forward Fabio Borini to Selhurst Park in January.

According Sky Italia the former Liverpool and Sunderland forward is set to depart the San Siro in search of regular football.

MilanNews.it reported that the versatile 28-year-old is unfancied by relatively new boss Stefano Pioli in any of his attacking positions and is unlikely to break into his plans having only amassed 70 minutes game time this season.

Borini is no stranger to the Premier League having started out at Chelsea, making four substitute appearances before making a name for himself at Swansea.

His goalscoring record in the top-flight doesn’t flatter however with just 16 goals in 107 appearances.

A return to the Premier League interests Borini, and Crystal Palace have made enquiries with his agent, Roberto De Fanti, suggesting the forward was eager for a move.
