Roy Hodgson moved to dampen rumours that midfielder Victor Camarasa will be leaving Crystal Palace in January.
Camarasa has just five minutes of first team football to his name since his loan from Real Betis just four months despite impressing in the Premiership while on loan at a struggling Cardiff City side last season.
Reports in the week suggested the 25-year-old Spaniard was on his way out of the Selhurst Park gates with a move to Norwich City mooted, reports Hodgson was quick to address.
“There’s no news on him, he’s been training very well,” he said ahead of his side’s home tie against Liverpool.
“His misfortunate has been to come at a time where we have so many midfield players.
“It has not been possible for him to break in.
“He has been in competition with Max Meyer but I am happy for him to be here and enjoying working with him.
“All players aren’t happy if they are not in the team but his work in training has been good, he has been exceptionally professional and I respect him as a player.”
Camarasa has failed to make the bench in a number of Palace’s recent outings, leading to fans voicing their frustrations.
We all know very well that Camarasa will pull up trees at Norwich #cpfc
