Derby’s Krystian Bielik could make a playing return at The Valley this Saturday after manager Philip Cocu declared him fit for selection.

The Polish international spent last season on-loan at Charlton where he enjoyed a successful spell under Lee Bowyer, ending with a Man Of The Match display in the play-off final at Wembley.

On-loan from Arsenal the 21-year-old defender, who can also play in midfield, made 31 appearances for the Addicks, scoring three times including a vital goal in the play-off second leg against Doncaster.

Sold to Derby for £10million in the summer, Bielik has established himself as a starter under Cocu.

An injury scare to both Bielik and Jayden Bogle during the international break jeopardised their trip to The Valley but Cocu has passed both fit to travel.

"It is positive for Bielik and Bogle," said Rams manager Phillip Cocu.

“Krystian is fine. He had an impact injury with Poland, so he couldn’t play in their games.

“When he returned to us on Tuesday of this week he could train with the squad, so he is available again.

“Jayden also trained with us today and he is available for Saturday too.”

News Shopper:

There wasn’t such good news for Rams midfielder Tom Huddlestone however who will be sidelined for the tie.

Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett are available for selection for the fixture after their Court appearance for drink-driving offences earlier this week.

Both were given a 12-month community order and must carry out 180 hours of unpaid work .

They have also been banned from driving for two years.

Bielik’s Return

Charlton fans hold Bielik in high-regard at The Valley after his contribution to their promotion winning campaign last season.

As a result a warm welcome is expected for the Pole.
