Albie Morgan has joined Ebbsfleet United on a 28-day loan.

The 19-year-old Charlton Academy graduate impressed in his break-out season last campaign but fouond game time hard to come by in the Championship.

Hghly rated by the Addicks staff it's felt the a stint on loan would benefit the midfielder.

“Following promotion and the new additions that have arrived this summer, Albie has found himself down the pecking order so it’s a great opportunity for him to get some games under his belt,” explained First-Team Development Coach, Grant Basey.

“In an ideal world, he would be going out to a League club but, due to the transfer window, he can only go to teams at National League level and below. As soon as we heard Ebbsfleet were interested, it was a no-brainer for all parties.

“We know what a good player Albie is. He was a big part of the squad last season and was very unfortunate not to be in the squad at Wembley. This now gives Albie the opportunity to go and play competitive men’s football.

“Due to Ebbsfleet’s current position in the league, he knows that he’ll have to go and roll his sleeves up and that it will be tough, so it will be a very good experience for his development.”

Morgan was instrumental as The Valley outfit sealed promtoion via the play-offs last season, starting both semi-final legs agaisnt Doncaser Rovers.

Morgan made his senior debut for Charlton in August 2018 and in total he's made 18 first-team appearances for the Addicks and now joins Garry Hill’s side for more valuable senior experience.

Morgan could make his Fleet debut on Saturday when they welcome Maidenhead United to the Kuflink Stadium.
