AFC Wimbledon chief Terry Brown says his side are finally starting to believe after Tony Finn's hat trick secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Harlow Town.

After a mediocre start to the Ryman Premier Division campaign, the Dons are unbeaten in six league games picking up 13 points from a possible 18.

And after Saturday's comprehensive victory, Brown says his squad are starting to develop a winning mentality - but insists his side's new found belief will not mean anything if their goal shy forward line continue to under perform.

He said: "We are starting to believe in ourselves.

"If Finn hadn't scored the hat-trick then we would still be pulling our hair out - there's still a need for another forward and the result doesn't disguise that.

"We can still improve - but I do believe we are starting to build up a head of steam.

"But it's all about finishing.

"We might give the odd chance away but we are as good as anybody at the back, in midfield we are not going to get outbattled or outfought.

"But it's in that final third where we flatter to deceive.

He added: "The number of times we get in behind teams and pick the wrong colour shirt out is incredible."

Mark De Bolla made his second appearance for the Dons in Saturday's victory and put in a superb display of passing, linking up particularly well with hat trick hero Finn.

And Brown admits he is happy to finally see De Bolla in a blue shirt after revealing he has tracked the former Ebbsfleet United attacking midfielder for a while.

"He is a really talented boy - I don't think we've seen the best out of him yet, said Brown.

"Mark gives us something different in that he can pick out a pass, where as Jake Leberl and Robert Quinn play it simple.

"We tried to get him at the start of the season and as soon as we knew he was out of contract we wanted him.

"It was one that was quite difficult to sell to the board because I've been talking about how badly we need a couple of strikers and then I ask for another attacking midfielder.

"But we are delighted to have him here now and he has made a difference to us."
