Here's how Charlton's men rated in their 1-0 win over Brentford at The Valley.

Dillon Phillips 6

Doesn’t fill you with confidence. Looks suspect under the high-ball and looks far from convicnign in commanding his area. Found touch with his distribution more times than not.

Ben Purrington 7

Caught in possession twice in the first half that went unpunished. Marking the talented Marcondes is no easy task, and the full-back will know he was in a game.

Deji Oshilaja 5

Battled well until he had to be withdrawn on 30 minutes.

Tom Lockyer 8

A real find in the market. Made the odd error of losing the ball in dangerous areas but possesses the speed to make up for it. Made two fantastic last-ditch tackles which prevented two golden chances.

Jason Pearce 7

Did everything that was asked form him and lead by example. Kept a lively Ollie Watkins quiet.

Darren Pratley 8

Priceless to the side. Slotted into the centre of defence when Oshilaja was withdrawn and commandeered his men in front of him.

Josh Cullen 7

News Shopper:

Charlton’s metronome came up against two smooth operators in Christian Norgaard and Mathias Jensen, but stood up to them physically showing a different side to his game. A vital player for the Addicks and more or less ran the midfield when Pratley dropped back to defence.

Connor Gallagher 8

The loanee is a real talent. Never looked in doubt when taking his goal and his goal haul already is already impressive. But it’s his eagerness and willingness to get on the ball at both ends of the park that stand out.

Jonny Williams 9

Playing with a new lease of life this season. Worked tirelessly and got his reward with his fourth assist this season. Bowyer has been working with the Welshman to do the ‘other side of the game’ better, and it’s certainly working. Looks a different player to last season.

Jonathan Leko 6

A quiet game for the trickster. Up against a huge figure in Ethan Pinnock which the defender won.

Lyle Taylor 7

Found the going tough against a physical and athletic back-line. His movement was key for the opening goal, creating the space for Gallagher.

Subs:

George Lapslie 8

Slotted in at right wing-back and it changed the plight of the game. Committed to the cause as you’d expect. A real squad player.

Tomer Hemed 7

Big and robust, the perfect foil for Tyalor, Made a great tackle to on Rico Henry as the full-back was pulling the trigger.
