Casuals Beach Soccer side clinched the National Beach Soccer League title on Sunday at Lee Valley after a gripping 6-2 win over Portsmouth.

Led by England Captain and Arsenal academy coach Aaron Clarke and former first XI player Ben Bowra, the Tolworth-based side had put themselves in pole position following their Isle of Wight victory two weeks ago.

Clarke was also named league ‘Most Valuable Player’ as top scorer in the competition.

Casuals had reached the final as top seeds defeating defending champions Eastleigh Spitfires in the semi-final and clinched the title with relative ease defeating Pompey in the final.

To round off proceedings, Corinth and England stopper Dan Hulme was also named Best Goalkeeper for the season.

Casuals now qualify for the Euro Winners Cup in Portugal next year, representing English sides in the continent’s premier Beach Soccer club competition.
