Crystal Palace are leading the race to land former Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill.
The 33-year-old left the Europa League champions at the end last season and it's thought three Premiership sides are in the hunt for the former Aston Villa and Bolton man.
Palace, who've only added Jordan Ayew to their ranks this summer lead the queue for the 61-cap international with Burnley and West Ham also interested.
The Eagles have centre backs Mamadou Sakho, James Tomkins, Scott Dann and Martin Kelly on their book at Selhurst Park, but it's thought Roy Hodgson wants to add the free agent to his squad with uncertainty over Dann's future as well as the long term fitness of Sakho following ligament injury.
Burnley, where Cahill spent a season on loan in 2004, are also keen on the defender with their own concerns over the potential departures of Ben Gibson and James Tarkowski.
Palace remain in the driving seat regarding a deal with Cahill thought to be keen to stay in London and link up with his former England manager.
