Millwall’s draw with Brentford could deem to be a vital moment in the Championship relegation battle as the Bee’s battled out a needless point against the Lions.

Here is how Newshopper rated Millwall’s players:

Dave Martin – 6

Was a bystander to Brentford’s emphatic equaliser but managed to meet a every other long range shot hurled at him. Other than that it was a quiet evening in the sun for the Lion’s keeper.

James Meredith – 5

Struggled at times against the pace of Canos and Dasilva down the right hand side, but can you blame him? Replaced at the break.

Jake Cooper – 6

A quiet afternoon for the center half in terms of being a usual aerial threat for the Lions. With that said, he carried out his defensive duties very well by quelling the threat of Neal Maupay with ease.

Alex Pearce – 5

Underestimated the pace of both Ollie Watkins and Neal Maupay in the opening minutes, seeing him get beat or lose possession one to many times. As a result, the defender cut a nervy figure for the rest of the match.

Mahlon Romeo – 7

The fullback looks to be fulfilling his potential in recent weeks. Solid defensively and a threat on the overlap.

Ryan Leonard – 4

Not his day at all. Miss placed passes, wayward shots and poor tackles. The Millwall fans will be expecting more from their record signing against Villa on Monday.

Ryan Tunnicliffe – 6

His effort does not go unnoticed. Run his socks off throughout and made some vital tackles. However, he will be going to bed tonight thinking about that chance that got stuck under his feet.

Shane Ferguson – 6

Converted to fullback in the second-half and managed to match Maupay for pace on the break to stop an inevitable one-on-one with Dave Martin. Put in some dangerous balls into the box but the anticipation was not there to meet them.

Jed Wallace – 6

Weaved in and out of Brentford’s backline and whizzed an array of crosses in to the box. He was also the man behind the delightful pass which set Thompson free in the buildup to Dalsgaard’s red.

Ben Thompson – 7

Was the engine of every Millwall attack prior to being forced off in the 40th minute with an injury. Showed blistering pace to beat Brentford captain Henrik Dalsgaard on the counter, forcing the Dane to bring him down, injure Millwall’s star man and get sent off in the process.

Lee Gregory – 8

Linked up play really well, dropping in deep when needed and then stretching the Brentford back line when the ball was aimlessly launched up to him. His importance to the side was epitomised by his goal in the 15th minute, not only was he there at the back post to score, he won both the free-kick and the corner leading up to that moment.

Subs:

Tom Elliot (Thompson 40’) – 5

Failed to make an impact. Battled well with Sorensen, winning the majority of his headers but failed to do much with his feet.

Ben Marshall (Meredith 45’) - 5

Assumingly brought on to provide service for Tom Elliot. However, his crosses failed to beat the first man everytime.
