If you listen to the Palace fans it seems one player was at fault for their 3-1 defeat by Manchester City on Sunday.
That player was Patrick van Aanholt.
Up against Player of The Year contender in Raheem Sterling, he was always going to be in for a tough day, but many believe his showing against the two-goal ace was well below par.
Itโs true his positioning could have been better for Sterlingโs brace, a hat-trick if he tucked away a sitter early on.

Fans have often singled out the left-back for being the weak link this season, so have Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins been sparing his blushes this campaign or is PvA becoming a scapegoat in what has largely been a frustrating season for Palace in every aspect?
Itโs quite clear where the Palace faithful lie, so should Roy Hodgson be looking for a new left-back?
PVA let us down again today. Imagine my shock ๐ #cpfc

I always like to look at positives and I will make a positive point before a negative one. AWB was phenomenal today. Best player on the pitch yet again. League above most in our squad which is a complete contrast to another shocker from PVA. Absolute drab yet again #cpfc

Love PVA, but heโs been terrible over the past few months. No excuse to lose Sterling like that with the pace heโs got. Such a shame because he was excellent last season. Defensively, he just isnโt good enough. AWB miles ahead of him in that respect. #CPFC https://t.co/SNNOO8aEPM
