Here's how we rated Brentford's players in their win over Ipswich Town.
Luke Daniels – 6 – Had very little to do in either half, though Ipswich did come alive a bit in the second half. Had to tip Alan Judge’s dangerous cross over the bar.
Moses Odubajo – 7 – Gave the full back and winger a headache all game with his persistent running down the right flank. Unfortunate not to see more of his work come off.
Ezri Konsa – 6 – Still error-prone despite oftentimes finding himself in non-threatening situations. Otherwise a decent performance.
Julian Jeanvier – 7 – Collin Quaner had one chance in particular but was otherwise quiet, particularly when pressed up against Jeanvier. Substitute Kayden Jackson had similar treatment.
Mads Bech Sorensen – 6 – Looked uncomfortable on the ball and struggled to win headers. Made a great defensive intervention early on, booked later in the game.
Rico Henry – 6 – Not as effective going forward as Odubajo but did well. Ipswich tried to shore up both wings and Henry’s production came mostly in his own half.
Joshua Dasilva – 8 – Excellent performance. Dictated the tempo with his passing and broke up attacks with his tackling. Did make the odd mistake in an otherwise fine outing.
Romaine Sawyers – 7 – His cogent passing kept Brentford ticking over as well, and could have had an assist if Benrahma scored from his cross.
Ollie Watkins – 7 – He linked up with Odubajo really well and the two were menacing all game. Had one goal but could’ve had another. Very good.
Said Benrahma – 8 – He was unplayable at times, setting up two goals inside 10 minutes. Guilty of giving the ball away cheaply but still highly effective. Man of the match.
Neal Maupay – 8 – Similar to Benrahma in that he was a pain to deal with. Had great moments of beating defenders individually on the way to testing Bartosz Bialkowski in goal.
