Roy Hodgson hasn’t ruled out the sale of Wilfried Zaha or Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer but is at ease with the situation.

Recent rumours surfaced that Manchester United have joined a host of clubs that will make an attempt to lure the pair away from Selhurst Park in the summer.

Hodgson however was pragmatic with his response to the rumours, citing West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini’s words on player transfers.

“Every footballer has his price,” said the Eagles manager in his Tuesday press conference.

“Just because they have a contract here doesn’t mean they have their feet nailed down here.

“The Club is in no way advertising them as sellable objects.

“The good thing for me is one has a five-year contract, and one has a four-year contract.

“Our aim is to start next season with them in our team, and if not, I hope the club feel the offers received for them were enough and worth taking.”

The 71-year-old seemed unmoved by the whole situation, potentially having seen multiple rumours come and go during his lengthy career in the game.

“It’s been happening on a regular basis this season,” he joked.

“Being linked to other clubs, we were linked to clubs in England, we were in Germany, we’re back in England now.”
