Jason Puncheon’s time at Huddersfield is not over according to the Terrier’s manager.

There were reports of a bust up between the Crystal Palace loanee and Jan Siewert after the 32-year-old was substituted at Newcastle on February 23.

It's thought Puncheon was unhappy at being a tactical make-weight after Tommy Smiths’ 20th minute red card at St James’ Park.

Since then Puncheon was not involved in the following games with Wolves and Brighton, sparking rumours that the pair had a falling out.

“I don’t comment on rumours,” said Siewert.

“What I can say is I am paid for making decisions and I am paid for choosing my squad.

“We had 18 players in the squad and I am just allowed to have 18 players, so I made my decision and I am paid for making decisions."

'My Way'

Asked if the midfielder remains part of his squad, the manager said:

"Yes, but I have to do decisions, and I will do the decisions in my way."

Puncheon is loan at the Premiership basement club until the end of the season where he looks to get much needed game time after falling down the pecking order at Palace.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson was unaware of the situation saying:

"That's news to me, and we have got no comment on it anyway.”

Huddersfield sit bottom of the Premiership, 13 points form safety with nine games to play and are favourites for relegation.
