Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believed it was keeping Palace’s wide-men that was key to Manchester United’s 3-1 victory.
A Romelu Lukaku brace and an Ashley Young strike eased United to victory despite a Joel Ward header which gave the hosts hope with the scores at 2-1.
It was keeping Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend quiet for large periods of the game however that kept the caretaker manager happy.
“They are good players indeed, they go inside, one on one, try and take you on,”
“They’ve won so many penalties throughout the season here.
“But we stayed on our feet and we didn’t lunge in,
“We did give them a goal though which we could’ve cleared sometime earlier.
“But three points at Selhurst Park is never a given.
“We started well and took control of the game and it was a fantastic response from going 2-1 down.”
The result leaves Palace in 14th, five points above the relegation zone.
