The Salts leapfrogged their opponents Frimley Green to go fifth after their 3-0 win on Saturday.

The comfortable win over their Surrey neighbours now leaves them just six points behind leaders Sheerwater.

Adam Heagney captained the side in his 100th appearance, replacing the suspended club captain Scott Murphy.

Salts pressed from the off and came close on 19 minutes but Liam Roberts header was cleared off the line.

They got their reward three minutes later however through Rob Hendry who he drove forward from midfield before unleashing an effort that left the keeper no chance.

Reisse Griffin then went close only to see his effort crash off the bar.

They doubled their lead shortly before the half time whistle through a fortunate own goal. Frimley Green defender Calum Nimmo deflected a Bobby Bennett cross past his own keeper.

Roberts got his goal after the break to seal the win before the hour. Collecting a long ball out of defence he strode forward and outsmarted his marker to slot underneath the keeper into the far corner.

It was a mixed day for Roberts, who on the hour received a second yellow for being adjudged to take a dive in the box.
