Daniel Bentley insists Brentford will remain focused on the task at hand when facing upcoming London rivals, despite a usually increased intensity about the affairs.

Struggling Millwall, who have picked up vital wins in recent games, are coming to Griffin Park next following a convincing 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

Though a trip to Loftus Road lies in wait as Queens Park Rangers’ upturn in fortunes sees them unbeaten in five Championship matches and sitting just two points away from a playoff spot.

The pair feature back-to-back in Brentford's next four before the end of November, with promotion contenders Middlesbrough and Sheffield United also set to visit west London.

Brentford are keen to rid themselves of an unwelcome eight-match winless streak which may begin with downing two London rivals in coming weeks.

Although for Bentley and the rest of the team he believes the focus is squarely on gaining three points, despite the occasion.

He said: “I think, from a fan base [perspective], there's certainly a little bit more of a buzz I'd imagine. But from a playing side I can certainly speak for myself and say I'll go into every game the same, whether it'd be a west London derby or somebody who's completely out of the way.

“I think, possibly, there'll be a little bit more tempo in terms of challenges flying and that kind of thing but we can't focus on that.

“We're not worried about games going in and thinking that they're derbies so we have to win, we go into every game with the desire to win, the desire to get three points.”

If anything Brentford will want to avenge the 1-0 defeat they suffered at the Den in March earlier this year, though Millwall haven’t won at Griffin Park for more than a decade.

A win would be Thomas Frank’s first since taking over from now-Aston Villa boss Dean Smith following a third consecutive defeat - this time at Norwich City.

It could also mean the Bees rise only as high as 13th in the Championship, however, results must also go their way since there are three teams ahead of them.

Bentley, who saved a penalty in the narrow 1-0 defeat to the Canaries, thinks thorough analysis of both the positives and negatives will help the team arrest their poor run of form.

He added: “There'll be certainly a reaction from the players on the training ground [following team analysis], which is what we expect.

“It's what the manager expects, it's what we expect of each other, it's what we expect individually, and that's the only way we're going to get out of this vein of form.

“It's if we work hard on the training ground, make sure we know the things we're not doing as well as we should and we know the things we should continue doing as well as we have done.

“I think that's a recipe for us to move forward and move on from the last three games.”
