As the January transfer window beckons the rumour mill is in overdrive with most clubs, and that is no different at Selhurst Park.

With off-field dramas regarding the moving of the ‘singing section’ in the ground, some would be forgiven for forgetting Palace have had an underwhelming start to their campaign this season.

Having lost their previous three matches and sitting just two points above the relegation zone, Roy Hodgson will surely be looking to do some business come January 1st.

ROONEY

Palace’s issues lie in scoring goals, so a striker is surely on the radar.

One name mentioned was Wayne Rooney.

Asked about the possibility of Rooney returning to the Premiership when the MLS season has finished, Hodgson said:

"All good players who want to come and play for Crystal Palace are always welcome, should we be able to afford them.

"I have a great deal of respect for Wayne and I think he does for me.

"I am not so certain he would have considered that as an option, but you never know."

GABI-GOAL

Another striker touted was Gabriel Barbosa of Inter Milan. Having been sent on-loan at Santos in his native Brazil after failing to make an impact at the San Siro after his €30 million transfer, the four time capped international has scored 29 goals this season.

It is thought the Brazilian side want to extend the length of his loan deal but Inter are keen for ‘Gabi-Goal’ to ply his trade in Europe.

MOSES

There is also discussions around a former Eagle returning to Selhurst Park.

Victor Moses has made his feelings aware after falling down the pecking order at Chelsea and it is thought he is looking to move on.

At 27 he still has years ahead of him and his experience as a title winner would be welcomed in south London, although there will be no shortage of takers for the Nigerian.

The wide man came up through the Palace ranks before making a 2010 move to Wigan Athletic, where his form earned him a switch to Chelsea in 2012. A trio of loans to Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham proved unsuccessful but when Antonio Conte converted him in to an attacking full back, Moses blossomed in to one of the league’s finest and capped it with the 2017 league title.

Could these three be the answer to Palace's troubles?
