Neil Harris has said his side are now getting to grips with the quality of this season’s Championship following two positive results prior to the international break.

Picking up four points form a possible six, Harris speaking to club officals, said that his players are hitting peak form making choosing a starting XI difficult.

“It’s not just that everyone is fit, it’s that everybody is in a good place and they’ve clicked in to gear,” said Harris.

“The Nottingham Forest performance was outstanding, and the Villa game was excellent.

“It’s given them a real lift and belief. Not only the players but it’s instilled belief in the staff the and the fan base as well and we look forward to a big week.”

Millwall sit one point and one place above their hosts but Harris says that they won't let the league position affect how they approach the game.

“We’ve not cracked anything yet, we aren’t back to the team that was so good last year and we’ve still got a lot to work on. All we’ve had is a realisation how tough this league can be and that it’s a better division than it was last year for sure.

“Reading are maybe a side that think they should be higher than where they are, and we are aware that at any stage they can burst in to being a very good side. So we know we need to be at the top of our game.”

Having played the top six sides and nine of the top 11, Harris admits that the fixture list has not been kind and that the next three matches against Reading, Wigan and Ipswich are important to the Lions.

“These are the sorts of games you want to compete in and take something from. These are the games that are really tight and there’s nothing in them and can go either way.”

Millwall beat Reading both home and away last season and will be hoping for a similar outcome as they visit Paul Clements side at the Madjeski on Saturday.
