Crystal Palace continue their winless run at Selhurst Park after a Luka Milivojevic free kick was deflected onto the post to ensure both teams shared the points.

The visitors were first to pounce in the 10th minute after Ayoze Perez forced a mistake from James Tomkins to allow himself in on goal, but the Spaniard shot straight into the palms of goalkeeper, Wayne Hennessey.

Crystal Palace retaliated by piling on the pressure and forcing goalkeeper Martin Dubravka to make numerous saves in the opening 20 minutes.

First a deep cross from Andros Townsend found its way into the path of Aaron Wan-Bissaka whose effort was eventually blocked by Jamaal Lascelles.

That was followed up by a wave of darting runs by Wilfred Zaha which initiated Newcastle full-back, DeAndre Yedlin, to foul the Ivory Coast International on numerous occasions in the first half.

Palace Captain, Luka Milivojevic nearly converted one of the Free-kicks when an attempted cross into the Newcastle area was deflected off James Tomkins and struck the post.

The visitors only got themselves into the game after the break when Joselu’s acrobatic effort was riffled straight at Hennessey.

The second half witnessed both teams have sustained possession but neither side was able to create a clear chance.

Wan-Bissaka and Zaha continued to look like Palace’s most dangerous players while Sakho and Tomkins quelled any threat made by the Newcastle players.

Mamadou Sakho came the closest after Andros Townsend found him unmarked at the back post. But the central defender was unable to find the target from six yards.
