Harlequins golbal development director Tony Diprose reckons the club's US tour is a chance to spread the rugby word and Quins name across the pond.

The club jet off to San Franssco at the end of the for a week-long pre-season training camp at San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club as director of rugby John Kingston steps up preparations for the forthcoming Premiership campaign.

The tour, organised as part of Harlequins’ strategic partnership with USA Rugby, will allow the players and coaches to activate and engage with the local community, while helping to expand the sport in the USA and north California.

Diprose said: “We are incredibly excited about travelling to San Francisco. This trip provides the squad with the ability to prepare for our 150th season in a completely new environment.

“Most importantly though, it provides Harlequins the platform to expand its name, and the game of rugby, to a captive audience which we hope will grow participation and awareness in sport’s biggest market.”
