AFC Wimbledon 1 Heybridge Swifts 1

AFC Wimbledon, whose hopes of making the Ryman Premier League play-offs look like going down to the wire.

Only a win at East Thurrock will guarantee them a top-five spot, otherwise they will be anxiously waiting to hear if Margate have slipped up at Hendon.

The Dons, whose form has mysteriously dipped since crushing Slough Town 9-0 a month ago, got off to the worst possible start on Saturday.

A bumper 3,500 was silenced as Danny Barber's 20-yard free kick squirmed through keeper Andy Little after four minutes.

The Dons drew level in the 23rd minute when Roscoe Dsane scored from the spot after being pulled down by Ian Wiles.

But that was as good as it got for the home side, whose performance was poor.

And they were grateful to some excellent defensive work from Wes Daly to deny the clean through Russell Pond from winning it for the visitors.
