Surbiton hockey player James Gall is out of intensive care, but is likely to remain in hospital until next week at the earliest, according to his father Iain.
England U21 international Gall, above, suffered serious head injuries after a fall nearly a fortnight ago and has been in St George’s Hospital, Tooting, ever since.
“The swelling to his brain has reduced, he is becoming more active and his speech is good,” said James’ dad on Wednesday.
“He is able to think logically and is capable of seeking solutions to small tasks. He has constant headaches, but they are decreasing in intensity.
“He is likely to be in hospital for the rest of this week and probably longer.”
