England Sevens coach Ben Ryan has named arguably his strongest squad of the season as England prepare for next weekend's Hong Kong Sevens.

England have won the tournament for a record four successive times, but Ryan knows the pressure will be on his squad.

"Hong Kong is like a home tournament for us as there is so much support from the crowd," he said.

"However, there is also a great deal of pressure on us as defending champions and I am under no illusion that every team we face will up their game as they try to beat us.

"I am excited about the squad we have named, particularly the two youngsters Tom Williams (NEC Harlequins) and Jack Adams (Gloucester)."

England have named a travelling squad of 13 players and will confirm their final 12 next week.

Ryan said: "There are some familiar faces back in the squad such as Dave Seymour (Saracens) and Danny Care (NEC Harlequins), who haven't played with us for a year, but there are also some talented newcomers who can't wait to show the Hong Kong crowd what they can do.

"Isoa Damudamu is just one name who I am confident the crowd, and the other teams, will be talking about by the end of the tournament.

"He has been setting National Division One alight recently and has been an impressive figure on the invitational sevens circuit for the last two years.

"It is fantastic that he is now eligible for England and I am sure he will make a huge impact in what is the biggest tournament of the IRB Sevens. I can't begin to tell you how excited he is!"

England face hosts Hong Kong next Friday, and Korea and Argentina on the Saturday.

Ryan said: "Facing the hosts is always tough while Korea are highly organised and work hard on the pitch.

"Argentina reached the final against England as recently as 2004, so you can see how much onus they put on the tournament.

"It will be a big game for us as we aim to move through to the quarters and top our pool."

The squad then travel on to the Adelaide Sevens (April 7-8) and Ryan knows success in both these tournaments is vital in England's quest to win the IRB Sevens series.

"Hong Kong is always a focus for every team as not only is it the biggest tournament in the series but there are extra points up for grabs for the winners," he said.

"It is great news for England fans that we are able to take a strong squad to both these tournaments."
