Young England fans are being given the opportunity to watch their heroes play at the home of England rugby for a pound.

On Bank Holiday Monday (May 28), the England Saxons squad take on Scotland A in the Barclays Churchill Cup and entry for U16s is just £1. Adult tickets start from £10.

This is the first time the Barclays Churchill Cup has been staged in England, and the Saxons against Scotland A is likely to be one of the biggest matches of the tournament.

A strong Scottish side beat the Saxons 13-7 in Toronto last summer and reached the final of the Churchill Cup, where they lost to the New Zealand Maori.

This year, the Saxons will be coached by successful duo Jim Mallinder and Dorian West, who already have two wins from two under their belts in the Six Nations in February.

That side featured Jamie Noon and Mike Catt, both of whom are now back with the senior England side.

Mallinder is looking forward to the re-match with Scotland A.

"Any match between England and Scotland is a big occasion and, given last year's result, England will be looking to get a win over the Scots this year," he said.

"It is fantastic that the pool match is being staged at Twickenham and that so many youngsters can hopefully come along and watch England play.

"The Saxons squad is going to be full of exciting youngsters and experienced Guinness Premiership players all be hoping to get into the senior team in time for the World Cup.

"There should be plenty of great players in action for both teams."

Last summer, Scotland A were captained by Gloucester scrum-half Rory Lawson, who made his first start for the senior Scotland team on Saturday.

Tickets are on sale from Ticketmaster (0870 902 0000). For more information on the tournament visit barclayschurchillcuprugby.com
