AFC Wimbledon frontman Darren Grieves has joined East Thurrock on loan until the end of the season.

Grieves, who has just returned to fitness since severely damaging his ankle ligaments in the 4-2 victory over Harrow Borough in January, has joined the Essex outfit with a view to regaining full fitness ahead of next season.

Anderson said: "This is a good chance for Darren to get properly fit again by the end of the season and be ready for next season. Given our current circumstances, we didn't think Darren would get enough match time in our remaining games, so this is the best chance for him to get fully fit again."

But Anderson insists the move does not signal the end of Grieves' Dons career.

"The move does not mean he won't be here next season. We just feel after his injury his fitness isn't what it should be so we've sent him out so he has the rest of the season to get in the right condition for pre-season."
