NEC Harlequins have sold out their redeveloped Twickenham Stoop stadium for the first time for Saturday's clash with London Wasps (3pm), writes Will Thomas.

All 12,600 seats have gone, demonstrating the support and popularity that Quins are currently enjoying in the capital.

NEC Harlequins chief executive Mark Evans said: "We never expected to totally sell out a game in our first season back in the Premiership.

"However we are delighted and it just goes to show how popular it is watching rugby at the Twickenham Stoop "Planning permission to redevelop the South Stand is lodged with Richmond Council as we speak since we are committed to continue improving our facilities here.

"I know there are people who have not been able to purchase a ticket for Saturday's game which is disappointing for them.

"All I can say is that the best way to ensure a seat for every game is to buy a season ticket and details of next season's packages will be out at the end of the month.

"In the meantime, for those that are lucky enough to have a ticket for this weekend's clash against Wasps, we are sure to witness a closely fought contest as the two sides battle it out for a play-off spot and a place in next years Heineken Cup."
