Brentford boss Mark Warburton has emerged as a front runner for the vacant Aston Villa manager's position following Paul Lambert's sacking.
Warburton's odds were slashed from around 40-1 to 6-1 by bookies following Lambert's dismissal by Villa owner Randy Lerner.
The Brentford boss's future has been the subject of speculation in recent days, with reports in The Times suggesting owner Matthew Benham would dismiss Warburton even if the Bees are promoted to the Premier League.
They are currently sixth in the Championship after winning promotion from League One last season.
Warburton, responding earlier in the week to the speculation, said: "My only focus is Brentford and the team.
"If I don't focus on the job at hand, I'll let that group of players down."
The Times reported that Rayo Vallecano coach Paco Jemez was last week offered Warburton's job by Benham and Brentford chairman Cliff Crown.
