Even though the Premier League season is over, for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle the work continues, although he will allow himself a small amount of time off.
Gayle burst into the spotlight with four goals in the final two games of the season, including a brace in the dramatic fightback against Liverpool.
But while the season is over, the hard work is not.
He said: “The close season is going to be very important for me. I will be working in the gym and working on a few things to make myself a better player.
“I will be getting myself a bit stronger and improving on little things tactically. My hold-up play needs to be better and I need to help out the team by bringing others into play.
“I am excited about next season. Hopefully I can repay the faith that they’ve shown in me and hopefully get a few more goals. I cannot wait for it to start.”
